Streamline the Government Procurement Process

The federal government is a trend-setter in the marketplace for cybersecurity products and services due to its large purchasing capacity. Nevertheless, the federal procurement rules and regulations do not encourage the participation of small- to medium-sized businesses that are adept at creating new products and services in real-time to address real-time threats and vulnerabilities.

Small- to medium-sized companies stay competitive by developing new and innovative products in a streamlined way. This quick to market approach is a competitive advantage over much larger and better capitalized companies that require bureaucratic layers to manage the various moving parts of large organizations.

Policy Goal: The federal procurement rules are not designed to provide a glide path to small- and medium-sized companies with new and innovative cybersecurity products and services. Thus, we work with policymakers in the legislature and with federal agencies to improve and update the procurement process to create a level playing field for new and innovative products and services to enter the federal procurement stream for cybersecurity products and services.
